The Rochester Hills Public Library and the Auburn Hills Public Library are co-sponsoring the AAUW Rochester Branch's Eighth Grade Women's History Month Essay Contest. The theme is "A Woman of Significance to Me." A student entering the contest should answer the question: What personal goals am I able to pursue because of the influence of a woman, either past or present? The person chosen as a subject of the essay could be a family member, a teacher, someone in the community or a historical figure who has opened new pathways of opportunity to your generation. For more information, please view the informational flyer and the entry form. Applications are also available at both libraries. The essay submission deadline is March 10.

February is Library Lovers' month, and we want you to love your library even more! Take a shot at our daily trivia questions, and for every correct answer you will be entered into a prize drawing at the end of the month. Most questions can be answered using the library website and electronic resources. Questions will be posted every day on RHPL's Facebook wall. You can view the wall by clicking the Facebook link at the top of the library homepage (www.rhpl.org) or, better yet, by becoming a fan of the library on Facebook. Anyone is welcome to play, but if you are chosen as a winner you must be able to pick up your prize at RHPL in March. Prizes will not be mailed.
